Hiscox Visit to NTT DATA India, Bangalore

HIGHLIGHT /
Hiscox visited NTT DATA's Innovation Centre in Bangalore to explore AI, robotics and digital twins for insurance. Live demos showcased practical use cases to enhance underwriting, risk modelling and customer engagement. The visit strengthened collaboration and aligned innovation with Hiscox’s strategic transformation goals.

On 22 January 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Chris Loake and Alistair McDonald from Hiscox to the NTT DATA office in Bangalore for a strategic visit focused on innovation and collaboration. The engagement marked an important step in strengthening our partnership, aligning advanced technology capabilities with Hiscox’s evolving business priorities.

The objective of the visit was twofold: to present innovation themes directly relevant to Hiscox’s strategic agenda and to demonstrate the breadth of NTT DATA’s research, engineering, and transformation expertise across India. Rather than a traditional corporate briefing, the day was designed as an immersive, hands-on experience showcasing how emerging technologies translate into tangible business outcomes for the insurance ecosystem.

The session began with a concise overview of NTT DATA’s global innovation footprint, highlighting our R&D investments, domain specialization, and role as a long-term transformation partner. This set the context before transitioning to the centerpiece of the visit: the Innovation Centre.

The executives were welcomed by our RoboDog, an advanced robotic platform that immediately captured attention. Beyond its visual impact, the demonstration emphasized remote operability, mobility in hazardous environments, and real-time data capture for risk assessment. Insurance use cases such as remote property inspections and risk surveillance illustrated how robotics can improve underwriting precision, enhance safety, and reduce operational costs.

The visit continued with a live Digital Twin demonstration of a micro-factory, showing how insurers can run multiple risk simulations in parallel, model disruption scenarios, and apply predictive analytics to underwriting and claims. By visualizing complex variables in a controlled digital environment, organizations gain greater foresight into exposure management and portfolio optimization.

As part of the Innovation Centre walkthrough, we also presented AI Avatars and Digital Humans, demonstrating how intelligent, scalable interactions can transform customer engagement and streamline service delivery while enabling more human-centric digital experiences.

Following the demonstrations, the focus shifted toward deeper strategic dialogue. We explored emerging trends, industry best practices, and NTT DATA’s differentiated capabilities. A key highlight was a condensed presentation of the Insurtech Global Outlook, offering a forward-looking view of how innovation is reshaping underwriting, risk modeling, claims, and customer engagement.

The agenda also featured insights into our Space Capabilities and AI Innovation Factory, showcasing how advanced analytics, next-generation AI frameworks, and scalable innovation models are being operationalized to accelerate enterprise transformation. Together, these sessions reinforced our commitment to not only anticipating disruption, but enabling it with precision and purpose.

After lunch, discussions moved to focus areas aligned with Hiscox’s priorities, with our U.S. team joining remotely to provide additional expertise. The conversations were highly constructive, fostering open collaboration around Hiscox’s growth ambitions and transformation roadmap and clarifying where our capabilities can most effectively support their strategic objectives.

Overall, the visit underscored a shared commitment to innovation-led transformation. By combining Hiscox’s market leadership with NTT DATA’s technological expertise, we identified new opportunities to apply intelligent automation, simulation modeling, and next-generation analytics to redefine how risk is understood, managed, and insured.

We look forward to building on these conversations and continuing our collaboration to deliver measurable, long-term impact across the insurance landscape.
